Intellisense - BMS

ISI’s Ballistic Meteorological Sensor (BMS) is a meteorological sensing unit that measures local wind speed, wind direction, barometric pressure, temperature, and relative humidity for use in improving ballistics fire control accuracy and for support of network data sharing while mounted to the exterior of the ground vehicle. The BMS sensor also features continuous health monitoring, built-in-test, and multi-sensor redundancy to improve sensing accuracy and reliability. The sensing unit has no moving parts and requires no field level maintenance. A single shielded cable connects to the unit delivering power to operate the system and provides the RS-422 data lines to support sensor communication. The BMS was designed, tested, and qualified to the harshest of environmental requirements to include – ballistic shock, vibration, solar radiation, dust, snow & ice, salt fog, nuclear radiation, chemical and biological decontamination, and electromagnetic interference.
